Flamenco Guitar Course: Learn with Azukita in Málaga or from anywhere in the world

07/08/2026

When we think of Flamenco, the first image that often comes to mind is a female Flamenco dancer on stage.

The movement.

The strength.

The expression.

Yet behind every performance is an instrument that holds the compás, accompanies the singing and engages in a dialogue with the dance from the first minute to the last.

The Flamenco guitar.

Its sound does more than simply provide accompaniment.

It can move you.

Set the rhythm.

Create tension.

Bring calm.

And shape an essential part of Flamenco’s identity.

Learning Flamenco guitar means much more than memorising chords or practising falsetas.

It means discovering a musical language that has been passed down from generation to generation and continues to thrive thanks to artists who perform it on stage every day.

That is why many people visiting Málaga choose to make the most of their stay by learning directly from professional musicians.

And many others do so without having to travel, thanks to online lessons.

Learn from a professional Flamenco guitarist

Not all Flamenco guitar lessons offer the same experience.

There is an important difference between learning from someone who knows the technique and learning from a guitarist who performs Flamenco in front of an audience every night.

Experience on stage provides a completely different perspective.

Every performance requires the musician to listen.

To improvise.

To adapt.

To engage in real-time dialogue with the singing and dancing.

All of this knowledge also becomes part of the teaching process.

That is why each lesson goes far beyond learning finger positions or practising exercises.

Students gain a genuine understanding of how the guitar works within Flamenco and the role it plays in a live performance.

Azukita: a life dedicated to the Flamenco guitar

Behind every lesson is an artist who has spent years experiencing Flamenco from the stage.

Azukita is the exclusive guitarist at KELIPÉ Theatre & Flamenco Art Centre and performs in every show presented at the Theatre.

His teaching approach is rooted in real-world experience.

He does not simply explain technique.

He also shares the way the guitar interacts with the dance, accompanies the singing and helps shape the unique sound of a Flamenco performance.

Alongside traditional repertoire, Azukita is also a composer and creator of original music, which is incorporated into KELIPÉ’s performances and gives the Theatre its own distinctive artistic identity.

His career is also reflected in GÉNESIS – Reflexiones en el tiempo, a CD recorded entirely live at KELIPÉ, featuring thirteen original tracks that showcase his personal vision of Flamenco and his commitment to the art form.

During the lessons, he adapts the content to each student’s level, provides personalised guidance and correction on technical aspects, and answers any questions that arise throughout the learning process.

One of the aspects most appreciated by his students is that, alongside the lessons themselves, he provides practice materials so they can continue working at home and developing their skills after the course has finished.

Because learning Flamenco guitar does not end when the lesson is over.

Real progress continues afterwards, with a solid foundation on which to keep building.

In-person lessons in Málaga or online lessons from anywhere in the world

Every student has different needs.

Some people take advantage of their holiday in Andalucía to attend an intensive course lasting several days.

Others live in Málaga and are looking for ongoing training.

And many want to learn with Azukita regardless of which country they live in.

That is why KELIPÉ offers two different learning options.

Lessons can take place in person in Málaga, at KELIPÉ Theatre & Flamenco Art Centre, or online, allowing anyone to learn from home.

This option makes it possible for students from Europe, America, Asia and anywhere else in the world to access fully personalised tuition without having to travel.

Distance is no longer an obstacle.

What matters is the desire to learn.

A course suitable for all levels

It does not matter whether you have never picked up a Flamenco guitar before.

Nor whether you have been playing for years and want to improve very specific aspects of your technique.

Lessons are fully adapted to each student’s level.

Some people want to start from scratch.

Learn their first compases.

Understand the fundamentals of technique.

And become familiar with the language of Flamenco.

Others want to become more confident accompanying singing or dance.

Perfect their falsetas.

Develop their musicality.

Or explore different styles within the Flamenco repertoire.

Everyone progresses at a different pace.

That is why there is no rigid, one-size-fits-all programme.

The aim is for every lesson to respond to the student’s individual needs.

Much more than learning chords

Learning Flamenco guitar is not simply about reproducing a series of hand movements.

It also means developing your ear.

Understanding compás.

Listening.

Interpreting.

And understanding how the guitar interacts with the other performers during a live performance.

Lessons cover essential technical aspects, as well as musicality, accompaniment and how to develop an interpretation with its own personality.

Because playing well is not simply about playing fast.

It is about knowing how to convey something.

And that can only be achieved by understanding the language of Flamenco from within.

Flexible schedules and courses designed around each student

Not everyone has the same amount of time available for learning.

Some students want to take a lesson during their holiday in Málaga.

Others prefer to organise an intensive course lasting several days so they can focus more deeply on their technique.

And those taking online lessons can fit their training around their own availability without having to travel.

For this reason, KELIPÉ does not work with fixed timetables or standardised group courses.

Each course is organised on an individual basis, taking into account the student’s level, goals and available time.

This flexibility makes the training much more effective and ensures that every session is focused on the real needs of the person learning.

Learn at KELIPÉ Theatre & Flamenco Art Centre

Where you learn is also part of the experience.

In-person lessons take place at KELIPÉ Theatre & Flamenco Art Centre, located in the historic centre of Málaga.

It is much more than a space dedicated to teaching.

It is a place where Flamenco is part of everyday life.

Every evening, the Theatre opens its doors for a live performance by exclusive artists.

During the day, that same space becomes a place of learning, where students from different countries discover Flamenco guitar from a practical and personal perspective.

Learning in an environment where Flamenco is experienced every day adds a completely different dimension to the training.

Because many of the ideas explored during lessons come from years of experience on stage.

Training designed to help you keep progressing

The goal of a Flamenco guitar course is not simply to learn for a few hours.

It is to acquire the tools you need to continue developing afterwards.

That is why, alongside the work completed during each session, Azukita provides study materials so students can continue practising at home with a solid foundation.

In this way, the training does not end when the lesson finishes.

Every exercise, resource and explanation becomes a guide to help students continue progressing independently and consolidate everything they have learnt.

It is a teaching approach based on guidance and continuous development, always respecting each person’s pace and individual goals.
